There are many conventional and unconventional ways of losing the body fat. It is toughest to lose fat from the hip and waist area. You can find a lot of medicines that claim to reduce your abdominal fat within weeks and some of them may work too, but you will have to risk your health if you go for them. Every medicine has its side effects and especially weight reducing medicines contain chemicals which alter the Ph of your body and send wrong signals to the brain; this abnormal routine can disturb your body's metabolism.

Abdominal surgery is another option but it will cost you a lot and there is no guarantee that you will not get this fat back. The safest and promising way of losing fat is through exercise and diet. Burn the calories regularly and your body will start to get in shape. You need to measure your body mass index (BMI) and should know how much overweight you are. Your body needs maximum of 2000 calories and you should not exceed this amount in any case. Make a habit of starting your day with lots of liquid and these should only be water or natural juices with no added sugar. Add salad and non-fatty foods in your diet to keep yourself healthy.

Stretch out your body daily to get a flat abdomen and work out for at least 30 minutes. Start your day with jogging or join a gym to keep your body in shape. If you cannot go to gym due to a busy schedule then get an exercise mat and do some stretching at your home. All the stretching exercises, especially crunches and ball exercises, will help you lose abdominal fat and you will get your body in shape without any medicine or surgery.
